McKeesport Area High School in Pennsylvania is leading the charge for schools to raise funds for PK’s Save A Life program. Students there are working hard this school year to “Act Local – Think Global,” and PK is grateful to be part of their effort.
But this good work doesn’t have stop with high schools – anyone can help! Whether you have kids or grandkids who are in school, in a club like girl scouts/boy scouts, part of a sports team, church or community group—we welcome anyone to help raise funds for PK’s Save A Life program! Here are some fundraising ideas:
If you or your group is doing something to help kids in Vietnam, please let us know—we’d be happy to help in any way we can!
You can also invite Paul Pinkerton to speak with your group in person. Paul would love to visit and share the story of Paul’s Kids. Contact us at Heather@paulskids.org with details.

The children of Vietnam are getting smarter this summer!
Thanks to generous donations from Audrey Insoft, Mount Joy Rotary Club, and the Lancaster County Bible Church, 1000 kids in Tho Thanh village were able to attend summer school in 2008. This allows them to study in their months off school in order to proceed to the next grade level when the regular school year begins this fall.

A group of Paul's kids board members and volunteers made a trip to Vietnam earlier this month and accomplished a lot! Here are just some of the exciting things they did to help kids there: Can you find Paul in the photo below?
All in all, this month was likely Paul's Kids most successful month to date! Thanks to all our volunteer and donors for making it possible and for helping make a difference in the lives of children in Vietnam.

Duong Minh Tri – A three year old boy from Binh Dinh province needs a life-saving heart surgery costing $1,200
Phan
Thi Bich Ngoc – A three year old girl from the province of Long An. She needs an operation on her aortic valve that costs $2700.
Ha
Ruol – A teenage boy from An Giang province, in need of $2700 heart surgery.
PK wants to
help, but there's currently no money in our Save A Life program fund. So,
because of the urgency, we are going to borrow money from our other project funds
– but this will be a temporary loan. We need your help to sponsor these surgeries
and save the lives of these children! Whether
you can sponsor a surgery in part or in full, every little bit helps. If you’d
like to help Save A Life, there are two ways to donate:
(1) Donate online. Just click on the donate page
and follow the instructions for paying with a credit card. Once on the PayPal
site, indicate in the “Message” section that your donation is for the Save A
Life program.
(2) Mail a check. Just make a check out to Paul’s Kids and write “Save A Life” in the memo section. Then mail to Attn: Amy Amundson, 1436 Lancaster Ave, Suite 200, Berwyn, PA 19312
Anyone
who makes a donation to Save A Life will receive photos, follow-up, and updates
on the life they helped save. Thanks - we couldn't save these lives without you!

Last
month’s $5,000 donation from the Lynch family went to saving the life of eight
year old Nguyen Minh Thong last week. Thong, who is from the Bien Tra province,
received his heart surgery on Monday, April 14. He is recovering well, as you
can see in these photos!
There are thousands more children in Vietnam who, just like Thong, are in critical need of life saving surgery. Please visit our donate page to support them and help Save a Life. Or for more information contact our Save a Life program leaders Ed and Patrick at ed@paulskids.org or patrick@paulskids.org.

Thanks to Marlin King, a Vietnam veteran and good friend of Paul's, Paul's Kids is bringing wheelchairs to handicapped children, hospitals, and others in need of such equipment in Vietnam. Earlier this year, Marlin and his wife, Wanda, donated $25,000 to manufacture and distribute wheelchairs to people with disabilities in Vietnam.
They are currently with Paul and Sandy in Vietnam giving them out and helping those who need them most. Check out photos from their trip, here.

Thanks to all our donors and supporters, we’re off to a great year, as fundraising goes. But there's good news and bad news.
The good news is that we’ve saved a lot of kids' lives, such as that of Tran Anh Thang, Tran My Tien, and Phy Ly Chen. The not-so-good news is that we’ve nearly depleted our budget in the process – and we need your help to save more children.
Please visit our donate page if you're interested in helping us help kids in Vietnam. Thanks for all your help and support.
