Riversharks Fundraiser: Saturday, July 25th at Campbell's Field, Cambden, NJ

Hi, All!

Here’s Your Chance to Have a Fun Filled Evening and Help Paul’s Kids, too!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Marcia & I are organizing a fundraiser for Paul’s Kids at a Rivershark’s baseball game in the Campbell’s Field in Camden, NJ on Saturday, 25 July 2009, at 5:35 PM. You know that awesome baseball stadium that you can see from the Ben Franklin Bridge? And to make this event even more interesting to our group, the Camden Riversharks will be hosting the Lancaster Barnstormers!

And as if that’s not enough, a spectacular fireworks show will follow the game.

Anyway, all tickets can be purchased online (see the attached flyer detailing how to purchase your tickets so that Paul’s Kids will get credit: Download PaulsKidsRiversharksFundraiser) for $12.25/each ($11.00 + $1.25 service fee) at anytime before the game. However, I will also be bringing a limited number of pre-purchased tickets to the Vietnam Fellowship Picnic for just $11.00/each ($1.00 less than the regular price at the gate). Either way, for every ticket we sell to this game in our section, $5.00 will be donated to PaulsKids.org. 

If you have ever been to a Riversharks game then you don’t need me to tell you how much fun you are going to have and if you have never been then please take my word for it (and I don’t even consider myself a true baseball fan!) The Campbell’s field is a small enough stadium that every seat in the house is great. In addition to the usual baseball game type refreshment stands they have stores, a ‘fun zone’ filled with bouncing inflatables and a rock climbing wall ($5 for an evening pass) and a merry-go-round ($1/ride).

So if you are going to be around on the evening of July 25th, 2009, I hope you can join us. And by all means invite your family and friends, too to support this good cause.

Ever heard of voluntourism?

Do you want to try something different? This summer, Paul is leading two service experience trips to Vietnam. Participants will tackle hands-on projects in a rural village, play with children in orphanages, and maybe even provide post-surgery care to Save-A-Life patients. Traveling with Paul in Vietnam will be the highlight of your year.

1.      Friends & Family Service Trip (July 19-30). This trip is geared toward individuals, groups of friends, and families who want to help! For more information, check out our Service Experience for Friends & Family Home.

2.      College Students Service Trip (August 16-27): Are you an enthusiastic, college-aged student who wants to help? Do you know somebody who is? Check out our Service Experience for College Students site.

Save the Date - It’s Time for Tet!

It’s that time of year again and we hope you’ll come join Paul’s Kids for our Second Annual Tet celebration, in honor of  Vietnamese New Year.

This year, the festivities will take place from 12 pm - 4 pm on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2008 at the Washington Fire Company, 36 W. Elm Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Like last year, we’ll provide an authentic Vietnamese lunch, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and lots of great Paul’s Kids items for sale.

So, save the date - Saturday, Jan. 24, 2008 - and email brenda@paulskids.org for an invitation!

1st Annual PK Run/Walk-A-Thon

Paul’s Kids 1st annual run/walk-a-thon is coming up this July and is a fun and fit way for anyone to help raise money for children in Vietnam. This year we’ll hold the run/walk-a-thon as a do-it-yourself event during the first week in July. Tell family and friends, collect pledges, and get in as many miles or laps as you can during the first week of July to raise money for PK!

Our goal is to help fund the Save A Life program that sponsors poor kids in need of life saving heart surgeries in Vietnam. We hope that you can participate!

Tet Celebration Sold Out

Thanks to everyone who's shown interest in joining us on February 2nd at the Paul's Kids Tet celebration. We've had a great response - so great we're at maximum capacity! To everyone who's already registered - we'll see you there!

To those of you who were interested in attending but hadn't yet RSVP'd, we're very sorry but we cannot accept anymore attendees. If you have any questions about the Tet event, please email Brenda@paulskids.org.
